Aloha from Hawaii,

I'm looking for a good place to intern this season. I'm currently on a
stellar natural farming tea plantation on the Big Island of Hawaii
(which I found on this listserv). I'm learning heaps, but would like
to learn even more this summer when my internship is up on May First.

If anyone knows of an internship opportunity (or is looking for a
passionate permaculturist to work hard for a few months to a year),
let me know.

I'm 26 and originally from Honolulu, Hawaii. I took a PDC last year
from a really great permaculture teacher. The course was in Tahuya,
Wa. I've been wwoofing or working on market gardens for the past two
years since leaving my dead-end career as an English teacher. Farming
is my chosen profession.
I don't do drugs, have no criminal record, and am a licensed driver. I
also hold a B.A. from the University of Hawaii in English. (Which
means I can edit newsletters, manuals, etc. if the need arises.)

As for what kind of internship I'm looking for, I have three criteria,
none of which are deal-breakers:

1) I should recieve a stipend. This is not necessary, but it would be
nice. I am also open to a profit-sharing arrangement.
2) The primary operation should involve animals for meat, milk, fiber,
honey, or eggs. A silviculture operation would be ideal. Hours on my
hands and knees transplanting tomato starts is NOT my idea of a fun
time. I'm also open to some natural building work or other
permacutlure field.
3) The farm should be near a college town or other welcoming area. I
like country living, but as a young man, I also like to get out once
in a while.

Thanks for reading my email. Mahalo and aloha!
