G'day,
Good to hear from you Holger...we are definitely going to be working in
Mexico (and else where in Latin America) with COAS and we are in Mexico in
May of 2010 conducting both HM & Keyline trainings there to follow up on
what we started there last September with the Keyline & GIS (which you
attended) workshops in El Arenal and Carbon Farming Planned Grazing
workshops with the Mexican Registered Cattle Association in Tepatitlan in
November. Soil Food Web-trained Doug Weatherbee (www.soildoctor.org) is also
consulting to COAS as part of that plank, which we are looking to include in
the trainings in MX too.
Obviously Eugenio Gras is deeply involved with all of this and it is likely
that COAS will become part of the RegenAG team (Eugenio already being a
RegenAG trainer in AU & NZ), opening up opportunities for folks outside of
Mexico to come down and do courses with COAS, along with locals themselves,
to whom the courses will be focussed.
Indeed we already have some interest in people coming down and doing
the Curso Maquinaria Pesada Keyline Cosecha de Agua (Heavy Equipment &
Keyline Water Harvesting Course) in Tepatitlan, Jalisco, Mexico, May 14-17,
2010 (
http://www.coas.com.mx/cms/calendario.html?task=view_detail&agid=87&year=2010&month=05&day=15&catids=36
).
RegenAG per se has only been going a couple of months and so it is all early
days and this year we have a lot of planning to conduct amongst the partners
to ready ourselves for 2011 and beyond with the planned expansion of the
program.
All the best,
Darren
