Hello Everyone,

I'm Announcing a Winter Permaculture Design Certification Course, held
in Stelle, IL:

Winter Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) Course - Focusing on
Small Scale Growing and Farming

Date: February 13, 2010 to February 20, 2010
Location: Stelle, IL 60919
Website: _http://midwestpermaculture.com/PDC-Stelle-Feb.2010.php_

Permaculture is a creative and artful way of living, where people and nature are both preserved and enhanced by thoughtful planning, the careful use of resources, mimicking the patterns found in nature and a respectful approach to life.

Growing and selling wholesome food while also taking care of the land is a challenge for most people who undertake small farming operations. Relatively few have done so successfully without burning out. When Permaculture design is applied to a food growing or farming operation, wastes become resources, work is minimized, yields increase and the land is restored. The farmer, her neighbors and his community benefit as well.

In this Permaculture Design Certification (PDC) Course, students will learn the fundamentals of Permaculture while also meeting many growers who have beat the odds and become solvent at small scale farming and urban growing.

The emphasis of this course:
1. Using Permaculture design to enhance small scale farming and suburban/urban food production
2. Transforming back yards, city lots, roof tops and community commons areas into bountiful (& beautiful) gardens
3. Making a farming business economically profitable, socially responsible and environmentally sound.
4. Minimizing work and reducing fossil fuel requirements for an energy lean future
5. Fostering long term financial and food security for ourselves and surrounding communities.
