One more thing to add in personal reflection:
This news has been with me today as I make my regular trips out to collect the seeds that are ready on my plants out back.
It's a wonderful bonding experience I am having with the plants and Frank, this list, and my dreams.
Frank was more of a foraging type, but also visited the cultivated plants in the greenhouse at Finca AMRTA in Costa Rica.
There, they have to cultivate the dandelions which grow uncontrollably well in many parts of North America. Frank spoke reverentially of the dandelion, calling it, if I recall correctly a queen of herbs.
On Facebook, there are short clips of Frank well worth watching, particularly the nettles and the pine tree.

Frances

P.S. I keep thinking that I'm communicating with Keith 'off list', but nope, it's always coming back to me through the list! So, while we're on the list, anyone else have any recollections/connections to share?

Frances,
He was in Asheville and I think it was today or yesterday. I'm awaiting
further details and will post them at the blog with an expanded obit. If
you care to contribute I can add it.

I am shocked and saddened.
I met Frank when he came to the organic farm in Costa Rica that we were
working on January-March 2008.
May I ask where he was at the time?

Best wishes to Frank beyond the physical.
I am sorry that he is gone. Was just mentioning him to someone (here in the
Comox Valley where I've been resident just over one year), and of course,
will never forget him.

When did he pass?

Frances

Farewell beloved friend

Frank Cook, friend and colleague, herbalist extraordinaire, has departed
his physical form due to complications of a tropically acquired disease.
He will be sorely missed.
