Hi Keith,

I met Frank in Costa Rica when he came through the organic farm where I was staying/working with a group that was touring with him.
Apparently, it was his mission to meditate with every species of plant.
His connection with plants was something memorable and inspiring. I have mentioned him to many people recently.
His love of plants and their study seemed to come from both sides of his brain, sharing his immense enjoyment of both knowledge and relationship with them.

I did go to his facebook site and it all seems to have happened very quickly and recently as you say.

I was just saying to my partner, David, that we have no idea who is alive and who is dead these days... Thoughts of passing have been with me recently.
I guess that's the thing about growing older -- more and more people that you know have moved on.

We also met someone in Virginia -- Bruce -- a wonderful lover of trees -- who was friends with Frank.

I'm still rather shocked, both at the event, and also at my happening to have heard about it -- only having joined the permaculture group in the last few days, thanks to a reference made on the Fukuoka group, asking people to refer certain discussions to the permaculture group.

I am grateful.

Frances

Frances,
He was in Asheville and I think it was today or yesterday. I'm awaiting
further details and will post them at the blog with an expanded obit. If
you care to contribute I can add it.

May I ask where he was at the time?

Best wishes to Frank beyond the physical.
I am sorry that he is gone. Was just mentioning him to someone (here in the
Comox Valley where I've been resident just over one year), and of course,
will never forget him.

When did he pass?

Frances

Farewell beloved friend

Frank Cook, friend and colleague, herbalist extraordinaire, has departed
his physical form due to complications of a tropically acquired disease.
He will be sorely missed.
