G'day,

I am a big fan of Dr. Flannery's many writings over the years (my favorite
being '*Chasing Kangaroos: A Continent, a Scientist, and a Search for the
World's Most Extraordinary Creature')*, though I thought that "The Climate
Makers' had a very soft ending and appeared pretty lax on the action
front....solutions to some in positions of science often take time....spring
forth to his latest effort in 'The Quarterly
Essay<http://www.quarterlyessay.com/pdf/qePDF/QE31_Chapter_One_Extract.pdf>'
and he outlines not just his own (staked!) position as far as geothermal
energy (plus BioChar, Joel Salatin etc), but an epiphany with regards
Holistic Management grazing management, which I wholeheartedly support. And
as with Keith recommend folks have a look at the work of Abe Collins, Dr.
Christine Jones, Colin Seis, Dr. Rattan Lal, Llewellyn Manske, Brock Dolman
& Allan Savory himself among many others with regards the power of perennial
grasslands and management intensive grazing in restoring mineral cycles, of
which carbon is but one of many imbalanced elements. I should declare that
Abe Collins and I work very closely together and that I am a 'Integrated
Consultant' to the Carbon Farmers of America and that we have identified
over 38 different methodologies that are known to increase soil carbon
alone.

All the best,

Darren
