It's strange that our government are more concerned about a bomb coming out
of the middle east and Korea than a nuke plant.
It's stands to reason globalization is the problem and scaling down and being
happy with less can still give you everything that is sacred. Today I spent a
moment with a non-permaculture neighbor who asked me why don't you just throw
those leaves and branches away. I said," I use everything for building soil
and my rocket stove." I should send him this link.
Thanks for sharing,

Ray

Hi,

There have been Washington state permaculture convergences off and on since
the 1980s but none have been held for about ten years, which is why I am
trying to get another one off the ground.

However Oregon has got their act together.

The Oregon permaculture community hosted their 10th annual Northwest Regional
Permaculture Gathering on August 23-26, 2007. This year it was titled the
Cascadia EcoFair. They had a core attendance of about 100 people with another
100 people coming short-term. Great talks and workshops. Very grass-roots.
The 2007 information is listed on their website. The 2008 event info is not
posted yet, but stay tuned to www.cascadiaecofair.org

What is the situation in the Southwest in terms of regional or state-wide
permaculture gatherings?
