Agriculture is said to be from the from Latin agricultura, from ager field +
cultura cultivation.
So permaculture can be said to mean perma permanence + cultura cultivation =
the cultivation of permanence or the cultivation of sustainability. It's
organized around human needs; however, a deeper look reveals that humans are
related to and part of all things animal, vegetable, mineral, fungi, spirit,
et al. Everybody lives or everybody dies.
