The author of the book is Ernest Callenbach.
There's a second book, Ecotopia Emerging, which is
about the process of Oregon, Washington, and
northern California seceding to form Ecotopia.
Vera Allwen's (the founding mother of Ecotopia)
"fireside lectures" in Ecotopia Emerging are very
good. I occasionally go back and just read those
passages when I get discouraged and want to give
up.
