Dear Lawrence,

That's one of the scariest articles I've seen since the one about much of Mexico's 150 species of corn being wiped out by GMO corn pollen that rendered them all sterile.

Thanks for your comments, Cecile.

Did this really happen?

What is to prevent this DNA from getting loose through a mosquito bite and into us? Or other warm blooded animals?

It may be a molecular pesticide derived through the use of nanotechnology
or using nanoparticles as a delivery agent or vehicle.

The molecular pesticide concept allows scientists to design each pesticide specifically for the targeted individual pest
species. It interrupts genes essential for insect survival, causing the insect to die. This recently discovered
technology maximizes safety and minimizes environmental impact on beneficial insects.

The key word here is "ninimizes".

In addition, molecular pesticides should be effective against pest species that are resistant to conventional chemical
pesticides. Chemical pesticides ....often.... have an impact on the

physiological systems shared by humans, but this new method
only targets specific genes of the pest species. Molecular pesticides can also be easily administered--by contacting the
insect externally.

If it is benign and at the same time works as advertised I'll believe it when
I see it.
Of course it could be used exclusively in braod acree farming with trickle
down to the garden centers
so the moronic twits will have a new garden fetish to obsess over.

I'm skeptical too. Hindsight is 20-20; we already know the effect of lawn and
landscape chemicals
on people and the environment not to mention environmental repercussion of
use of pesticides in large scale
agricultural production.
