I am just 90 miles north of you. For starting Acacias definitely grow here. I
have two of them on my property.? Though a tropical I and several other
people are growing Leucania which yields high protein seeds and pods.?
Contact me offline if you want some seeds, I have a crop ripening right now.

Does anybody know of any good nitrogen fixing trees that would work well in a
Mediterranean climate such as Los Angeles. Any help would be much
appreciated.
