To those of you coming for the "Brazilian Adventure"
(IPC8):

One Week Course:
« Using Energy Techniques as Design Tools »

9th – 16th of June, 2007
Marizá Epicenter of Culture and Agroecology
Tucano, Bahia , Brazil
Marsha Hanzi, Sheila Waligora
(In English)

The Course :

Energy techniques ( kinesiology, dowsing, pendulums,
floral remedies) have been well-known since the 30´s ,
but poorly integrated into planning strategies, in
spite of the enormous potential for honing beautiful
site-specific projects given by these subtle tools at
hand.

In this one-week hands-on course, Marsha Hanzi,
founder of Brazil´s first Permaculture Institute
(which today works with a thousand farmer families :
www.permacultura-bahia.org.br) will take you into the
world of nature communication, intuition and
co-creative planning applied specifically to
Permaculture design, her specialty for many years.

In the real-life situation of her 16-hectare
agroforest project you will learn to communicate with
the system using kinesiology, dowse a map for water
and other elements, and to plant intuitively,
creating your own personal style of communication with
the system. Sheila Waligora, veterinarian and Brazil´s
leading animal communication specialist, will teach
you how to undersand and communicate with the animals
of your site, both domestic and wild.
(Sheila also speaks English)

This is a fun week, with lots of good food and good
company in a beautiful, cosmic location, in the
Brazilian drylands during the rainy season.

The last day will be celebrated with a long donkeyride
into a beautiful remote valley to visit a traditional
local farm.

Acommodations

The Epicenter has a large guest house which can
accomodate 15 people with simple comfort.
Bunk beds with 3-4 people in each room, running water.

The Climate :

Cool to coldish, with some rain, leaving the
countryside green and abundant. This is the second
month into the 5-month planting season. Activites will
be tailored around the climate for maximum comfort.
This will be an El Niño year, so the climate will
probably be drier than normally for this time of year…

The Food :

Locally produced , most of which comes from the actual
project or its neighbors, although this is the « lean
time », just before the next harvest. Plentiful
local citrus fruits. Rice-and-beans based diet, with
tiny quantities of meat and eggs. Many vegetarian
options. Fresh local milk.
Good Brazilian coffee…

Travel :

The group will meet up at the Salvador bus station at
8 am Saturday morning, June 9th, to embark on the
5-hour bus ride to Tucano. Transport costs are not
included in the program, but should be less than US$35
total, depending on the exchange rate (although the
dollar is falling, so this price cannot be guaranteed
for the time being).

Price :
US$250, course and accomodation
