Spanish Permaculture Beginners Guide Launched

The weekend of 5th-8th May saw the launch of the first Spanish
language permaculture publication, 'Permacultura – Una Guia para
Principiantes' at the annual Biocultura Fair held in Barcelona. The
book is a translation of Graham Burnett's 'Permaculture – a Beginners
Guide' originally published by Spiralseed (www.spiralseed.co.uk) in
2000, and features an illustrated introduction to the ethics,
principles and applications of permaculture, such as urban gardens,
LETS systems, community building projects and farms. The translation
is the work of a team consisting of Antonio Scotti, Stefania Strega,
Sara Arnaiz and Zoe Costa, and has been jointly produced by Academia
de Permacultura (the Spanish Permaculture Academy),
PermaCultura-es.Org and EcoHabitar magazine (the Spanish equivalent of
Permaculture Magazine).

To celebrate the book's launch, the author was invited to the
Biocultura event, where he led two presentations and question and
answer sessions at the Olympic stadium, inside the main lecture
theatre and at a less formal event in the small teepee area outside,
both which were very ably translated by Antonio Scotti. Signed copies
of the book were also sold at the Permaculture stall at the fair.

'Permaculture a Beginners Guide' has also been translated into
Croatian, Hebrew and Belgian and Hungarian editions are in the works.
