they also carry a liver fluke that is harmful to goats, i think. the slugs
with this parasite will wait at the top of grass blades, hoping to be
ingested, but the ones who are not infected do what slugs normally do and
stay on the ground under the grass. it's kinda wierd to think the parasite
affects the slug's behavior. i imagine cooking them well would kill it,
though.
i'll see if i can find some references for this study that was done - it's
been a long time ago that i read it.
