Hi All,
I was reading an article that said that the fields of south India that
were inundated with tsunami waters could take upto six years to regain
their normal production levels.
This will surely be a big drawback for the ordinary farmer. The
article did mention that the land could still be used to culitvate
saline loving crops. I am sure the experienced people in this group will have some valuable
insights on this matter..
Can anybody throw some light on what really are the options for these
farmers? What are the saline lovig commercial crops that could sustain them
in
the meantime?
Thanks,
amrita .
