The theme of the next issue of Permaculture Activist is Fire and
Catastrophe. I will be editing the issue.
We're looking for articles on these and related topics. If your site has
been through, or is designed to protect from, fire, flood, storm, civil
disaster or any other catastrophe, we'd love to have an article from you, or
about your site and experience.
Other possible topics include:
-Designing for catastrophe
-Teaching about disaster and catastrophe design
-Dealing with fire, mudflow, storm, flood, etc.
-A permaculture perspective on 9/11 and the post-9/11 world
-Disaster protection in different climates
-Natural building and disaster (a piece on earthen buildings and
earthquakes, fire, flood, etc. would be very useful.)
-Drought-proofing strategies from a permaculture perspective.
Or other related articles.
We will also consider re-printing suitable articles from magazines, books,
or web sites, so if you have seen such, please let me know.
Illustrations are very welcome. Deadline is September 1st. Electronic
submissions and jpg/tiff graphics are preferred, but other formats may be
acceptable.
Feel free to re-post this on other sites and lists.
