Epsom salts contains magnesium, an important soil nutrient in the right
amounts - too much will throw soil chemistry out of balance. Dilute before
throwing out and spread it around.
It's also an excellent natural fungicide for powdery mildew, black spot etc
generally applied by dissolving 1 teaspoon of epsom salts in 2 gallons (9
litres) of water.
