Since Steve Gabriel and Micheal Burns have posted
recently, I thought I would add my two cents:
ANNOUNCING:
The Finger Lakes Permaculture Network is now open for
business. Steve, Mike and I along with Rebecca
cutter, Mesoamerican permaculture institute founder
Rony Lek, Barbara Barthalomew, Kirt, buffalo, Johanna,
Ishell and Gaia attended meeting numero uno. It was
decided to concentrate our initial efforts on
spreading the word, letting people know that we are
out there. Thus this email. If there is anyone out
there from the region, adjoining regions, and/or would
like to contribute to the creation process, please
contact us. this summer will be spent getting to know
eachother and sharing through a series of home based
workshops. This model might eventually become the
norm in the finger lakes as we are dealing with a huge
area and several different watersheds. Popular
education at its finest, decentalization to the max, a
headless beast.
Next summer, it looks like we will be holding our
first ever bioregional congress, and also a
fundamentals course. We are going to be looking for
guest speakers as well as someone to lead the course.
Again, cantact us if you are at all interested. I am
responsible for networking at this early stage, so if
anyone would like to point out any networking
resorces, people of interest in the
regional/interregional scheme of things, cool
projects, bioregional organizing resorces, etc., etc.
please don't hessitate. mike is working on a regional
green pages, so he is also a good person to contact,
and I'm sure steve would love your input as well.
keep up the fine work everyone.
Can't wait to hear from you.
Josh
