These houses were set up so that humans spent very little time in them. There has always been much praise for the tomatoes that were raised in the same houses during the months when the chickens are outside. -Allan

I don't really understand this thread. Sorry.

Joel Salatin overwinters LOTS of chickens in SEVERAL hoophouses. I've
been in those houses and was more concerned about poultry dust than
'odor,' let alone, gas.

I overwintered a few chickens in a hoophouse one year and felt that
what i'd done was created an incubator for RATS.
