I am looking for a speaker for a conference on sustainable agriculture
that will be held in Yazoo City, MS, on Sat., 12/7, as the first
state-wide conference sponsored by the new MS Sustainable Agriculture
Working Group (MS-SAWG). The audience will be primarily small farmers
(probably most of whom are not organic), but will also include some
large farmers from the Delta, in all likelihood. So, this is an
opportunity to speak to a diverse audience whose only common ground is
farming (and presumably an interest in sustainability). I am looking
for someone for a "Technologies" session (cover crops, crop rotation,
biological approaches to 'pest control', etc.), who can give an
overview. I would love nothing more than for someone to present the
broader perspective of Permaculture as a complement to the other talks
that will be nuts-and-bolts. Without a doubt, this will be the first
time most of these farmers have heard of Permaculture.

We have a rather tight budget for this conference, so we are probably
looking for someone from the Southeast or someone whose own organization
can cover some of the expenses. If you could recommend someone that
could give such a talk to the audience I have described, please let me
know (and feel free to forward this message). We need to move quickly,
as our conference is less than 3 months away.
