much more effective if the birch trees were removed as well as
> they 'suck' hundreds of litres of water on hot days.
In discussing the manner in which trees thirstily "suck" up water, seems we
forget that they do so only temporarily - trees, like humans do not have an
infinite bladder ! - they do not "hold" the water indefinitely. Inevitably,
they return it in one ( improved) way or another...
