Rick,

There's an organization, Let Cuba Live, that's in my hometown of Brunswick,
Maine. They have a wealth of knowledge about Cuba. Check them out at:
http://www.letcubalive.org/index.htm.

Also, the Context Institute (they used to publish the great mag, "In Context")
has some good stuff on Cuba. Though a little dated (they're no longer
publishing, but have much of their stuff archived at the web site), the
information is still relevant.
