It grows here in western Oregon, minimum temp 10F (USDA Zone 8). I had some
in pots and they all froze out at 20F, so they need to be established to
survive hard freezes. Soil pH here is 5.5-6 and is heavy clay, so they have
some flexibility. They're planted extensively on a keyline ranch near here.
They grow fast, tolerate drought, can be slashed for mulch, all that good
stuff.
