If fencing-out the cows is something you decide to do (as at least a
partial solution), electric wire is probably the cheapest and easiest way
to do it. The charger units can be run off a small solar panel. The whole
set-up, panel and all, is widely available and so common as to be fairly
cheap. The long-run answer, of course, is to educate people, change values,
change tax laws to give ecological *restoration* tax breaks and so
on....and eventually get the bloated bovine biodiversity bulldozers off the
land entirely.
