terrain in which ecological ideas can take root and flourish. May they inspire
those who will lead us back to the Way, and thereby restore and preserve
what still remains of the beautiful world that we have been privileged to
inherit." - Edward Goldsmith in The Way: An Ecological World View

Welcome to our Web site, which gives details of all currently
available titles, and also those due in late Autumn & Winter 97. Green
Books is a small independent publishing company, whose aim is to inform
and inspire the general reader about ecological, spiritual and cultural
issues of our time. We usually publish between four and eight new titles
each year, and also distribute selected titles from two like-minded US publishers:
Chelsea Green Publishing Company of White River Junction,
Vermont, who publish in the field of Sustainable Living, including renewable
energy, organic gardening and ecological building; and Council Oak
Books of Tulsa, Oklahoma, who specialise in native American culture,
consciousness, ecology and spirituality.
Our own books come under four imprints: Green Books &
Resurgence Books (general titles), Green Earth
Books (practical titles), and Themis Books (titles
on indigenous cultures and eco-philosophy).
If you would like us to add your name to our mailing list to be sent information
about our new and forthcoming titles, or if you would like a copy of our
current Spring or Autumn catalogue, please email, phone or fax us. Please
note that prices are subject to change without notice.

green retailers such as some health food shops, and by direct mail.
In the USA: As from Spring
1998, new & recent titles and some backlist titles will be available
through Chelsea Green Publishing Company (see above).
Elsewhere: We have various
distributors overseas - please contact us for latest details. In case of
difficulty you can always order direct from us, or through your local bookseller.
If you are a green retailer in the UK, and you
