John H. is running zope behind apache (on purpose, not forced ;-) for vhosting, with zero issues, excellent stability. Not a mutli-million hit environment though. Not clustered like theirs, I assuem. I dunno how much that would matter to such a setup. John H., do you have any ideas on that?
Chad, can you ask them what version of zope that was?
I know the first time this came up via Lawrence was a loooong time and probably many zope verisons ago.
So it may still be an issue or it may not be an issue at all with current zope.
What I'm hearing from them is that they're assuming the worst and don't want to do it without dedicated hardware.
Compared to payroll, hardware is usually pretty cheap.
What kind of money are they looking at to add a server?
