And OTOH there's that darn Latin crap again!
What the heck is a brassica to (most?) folks out there who will be
visiting our DB and hoping to get useful, applicable information in "plain
English?"

Yeah, I know lots of families that have annual garden plants. They say
they taste better than the supermarket stuff, that's why they grow them.
And the chickens eat pretty much all of them if they get the chance.

In other words, be careful of "knowing too much" about techincal plant ID
stuff when designing HG. If HG is really to be useful to the general
public (whoever they are), too much attention to latin plant stuff and
fancy terminology and so on is misdirected effort. It should be in there,
of course - and, I reckon only a small portion of our desired/intended
audience will find all that latin stuff useful.
