All (but Rich in particular)
Can we have a function where upon drafting a page you can select category tags from a list of avaiable category tags? At the bottom a an edit page you can check box from a series of relatively stable 'metacategories' that would help organize content.

I would propose that a system of categories combined with an easier tool for tagging a page from a finite set of categories would make this Wiki more powerful, Gradual evolution of a set of core categories would make the wiki easier to navigate, and assist in defining database objects.

Are these the two functions of the wiki:

1. begin generating narrative content on permaculture concepts?
2. serve as a forum for discussing a second generation database product that might derive its structure or content in part from wiki content?

If we are to take on #1 fruitfully, think that a systematic 'metacategory' list that defines how pages fit into a proposed taxonomy of permaculture ideas would go miles to making a wiki more interesting and servicable. That category list could be debated on a page, and changes to metacategories could be moderated to reduce flux.

guild, plant, pattern, technique, resource, participant, site, region, etc...

The fits and starts of silence are unnerving... I plugged in a fit of editing, and then no counter edits... any interpretation of this phenomena would be helpful.

Paul
