Hi Nathan,

In relation to the application of Semantic Copyright, the ontology has been introduced initially in a set of scientific works provided by The Dialnet Foundation, which has a large experience in the management of articles and other works in university and academic sector. The copyright registry's ontology includes a class for derivative works specifically for marking a work as a derivative work and inform about the original works used in this one. As the ontology is being extended, users and applications can stablish cross-relationships and see all links between them.

For CC licenses, some classes have been introduced, as sharealike and other special conditions (you can see the list of classes at http://www.semanticcopyright.org/files/registry-owl/html-doc/classes/index-individuals.owl.html), but the imputs are introduced, in the development phase in which Semantic Copyright is, by the registry or information provider, they are not obtained automatically through CC-Rel. Of course it would be very useful.

Results are not fully accessible yet, but as soon as we can we will provide the list all informations and links to see how it works.

Regards,

Hi Javier,

I definitely appreciate the effort that went into Semantic Copyright.
I don't doubt that you evaluated the existing literature and made a
design decision that CC REL was not appropriate for you.

Are there examples of Semantic Copyright available so we can see how
it would work on the web?  Have you considered how an application
might process a derivative work where inputs are described by CC REL
and Semantic Copyright?  Of course the two are conceptually
compatible, but that doesn't mean much for developers without clear
direction on how they intersect and work together.

Nathan
