Thank you, Ginda and Chris. I wish I could do the summer over! But I’ve
learned a valuable lesson.

It is certainly possible I was careless with digging the hole, too, and that
area often has standing water in spring, which surely doesn’t help the tree
any.

Onward and upward; time to buy a new tree! We did love those apples!
