Does anyone know what the hardiness would be for these large fruited
Russian Olives? I have regular Russian Olives at my farm and they do just
fine. We get down to - 32 C sometimes. I have in past years spent
considerable time propagating new and exciting varieties of fruit that
turned out to not survive our winters - don't want to go there again. I am
very tempted to buy a small amount of Bail seed from Baker Creek.

Devon, could you please write more about the mysterious die-off issue?

Also, I can't find a source of Autumn Olives in Canada any more. At my old
farm 30 years ago, the Ministry of Natural Resources sold us large volumes
of large fruited Autumn Olives for $0.10 each. Now they are considered a
dangerous invasive species. They are not illegal, but frowned upon by the
regulators, so no one wants to publicly sell them any more. I would be
happy to buy seed ( or dried fruit that wasn't overheated in the drying
process) or seedlings. Does anyone know of a source? Seeds cross the border
fine, so US or Canadian sources would be OK for seed.

I have tried to grow goumi several times, but it does not winter over for
me. Does anyone know of a very hardy strain?
