A certain web site advises to mix 2 lb of Bonemeal into the soil removed to
plant an apple tree.
Are there alternatives to bonemeal?
 Thanks

If it is calcium one is wishing to amend to soil for apple trees, perhaps egg
shells would work, rinsed and well crushed?
Easy source of calcium for those who raise chickens or ducks.
