Hi Michele,
I'm in zone 5b west central Indiana. I've had D. lotus growing here for
quite a few years. Freezes to the ground nearly every year and none have ever
fruited. Some of the original seedlings have given up and died. I've also
tasted them, nothing to get excited about. Nothing like kaki or virginiana.
My
advise is don't waste your time.
