How do folks attach the labels? I used to use those aluminum ones with the
little wire, but many pop off since the wire is small, and the ones that
don't pop off can eventually grow all the way into the tree wood where it
can't be read. This spring I switched to using UV-rated cable ties stapled
to my trees. The idea is the tree can grow all the length of the cable tie
before it eats the tag. Here is where I got the idea:

A couple of these have fallen off and I had to re-attach them, but otherwise
they are looking good. I used two 1/2" staples with a staple gun to attach
each tag. I used 8" ties since my trees are not going to get as big as what
this guy is tagging.
