I am in central Maryland which is in the same heat zone as much of NC and TN
(heat zone 7 according to the AHS map -
http://ahs.org/publications/heat_zone_map.htm). Sugar Cane has done OK for
me, it took awhile to fruit and does not produce a huge amount but it does
give me a harvest of excellent-tasting fruits. Honey Jar has been my
tastiest and most precocious and productive variety; if it were larger it
would be the one to beat. Many kinds don't want to produce very well at all
in my climate - Li, Lang and Sherwood all have produced little or nothing in
five years, corroborating Richard's experiences. I don't have Tigertooth.
Shanxi Li has been good but is a recent addition and has only started
fruiting; Tsao is very reliable and productive but only OK in flavor.

Scott
