It's dry in summer in the Willamette valley so fireblight isn't a problem here. I've never had it on my quinces in over 30 years.

Having moved to a warmer wetter climate (Willamette valley), I'd think the FB risk was higher. I can't find information on if some varieties of (fruiting) quince have more FB resistance?
