I have a Beauty plum producing now.  My  Elephant Heart is much later.

Lon,
Thanks for the comment. It's not Methley, which I think is red inside and out, and is more round than my plum.
I'm thinking my mystery plum is related to elephant heart. They are purple inside and out when ripe, clingstone, 1.5-inch diameter, with a distinctive point. Right now the skin is green/yellow and starting to blush. I tasted one over the weekend and it is starting to get sweet, but still crunchy and tart. I like it very ripe, fragrant, and melt-in-your-mouth. They look like the plums on this webpage: http://blisstree.com/eat/elephant-heart-plums/ . The mother tree hangs over the sidewalk on Dibble Street in Seattle, so for now I call it Dibble Plum.
