What minimum temperature can the loquot tree sustain before it experiences dieback?
Has anyone grafted loquot onto quince?
Does  the quince rootstock significantly enhances the hardiness of the scion variety grafted on it? ...or affect the fruit ripening time?

Loquats are just ripening here now.  A lot of people have them as decorative yard trees but won’t try the fruit – or any fruit that’s not in the grocery stores.  Not many mind people like me harvesting their trees – but they still won’t try them.

~ Stephen,

Driving by the loquats and checking for ripeness daily

'Big Jim' is a very good variety. It has large tasty fruit. I also like Christmas and Novak. Novak has a really large, dark orange colored fruit.

Has anyone evaluated different loquot cultivars for best fruit quality/taste?

'Big Jim' can get to be the size of a small/med peach
