It could be pear blister mite. I had it for a long time before I learned
what it was. I've read it's not that uncommon in backyard plantings.

Subject: [NAFEX] Pear leaf disease

Hello,
I have something affecting my luscious and summercrisp pears. The leaves and
bits of new growth develop red spots (like a rash) and curl upward. The
edges of the leaves also go black, like leaf scab. It seems to be somewhat
severe. Any ideas what the causes might be? Any recommendations for
treatment?
Thank you!
