Just to be nitpicky, 'Carmine Jewel' is just an interspecific hybrid, not
intergeneric. Its parents are the hardy little Mongolian cherry (Prunus
fruticosa) and the sour cherry (P. cerasus) which are both in the Prunus
genus.
But yes, interspecific hybrids can have fertility problems too.
I'm really curious what these seedlings will grow into. Will you get trees
the size of sour cherry trees, with little fruit like a Mongolian cherry?
