Nolin River sold out of Peterson's pawpaws back in December. The pawpaw
page is confusing with regard to whether or not they have other varieties
still available or not. (I can't recall who was looking for the Blue
persimmon variety, but Nolin has it available this year)

Burnt Ridge www.burntridgenursery.com and Edible Landscaping www.eat-it.com
would be good places for the original poster to check out as they do have
pawpaws in stock (and they sell potted, grafted plants; not bare root)

As an aside, I find it interesting that Peterson chose Forrest Keeling as
the second source for his plants. FK is not a mail order nursery, they do
have a mighty interesting root development process, but I've spent quite a
bit of time on the site looking for a way to purchase the Peterson varieties
they claim to have in stock. Short of driving to Missouri, I have not found
a way. (maybe the idea is for FK to eventually be a source for mail order
nurseries to be able to offer Peterson's varieties without being themselves
licenced to graft and sell the varieties themselves)....I just wish there
were a way to order from them for the home gardener.

I have a couple Peterson varieties already...though I am still considering
hunting down scion of mango and trying to graft it to one of my seedling
pawpaws.... But I have not had much success grafting yet, so perhaps in
time.

Rich,
I suggest that you check out the "river series" of pawpaw trees developed by
Neal Peterson and now being propagated by Nolin River - see
http://www.nolinnursery.com/Pawpaw.htm
They are all very good, just make sure that you get at least two different
cultivars for pollination.
