Wondered if there is a special trade/swap section for Nafex. Am interested in sharing some of my Ben Mor Black Currant Cuttings. Also have some Broadtorp, which is very good fresh eating. Looking for other good ribes

At 220' of elevation in NW FL I never tried to shade my pawpaws. They grow fine. They get some morning shade where they are, though--from pecan trees. They are bearing now.

Hello Jay,
What has worked well for me are 2 foot tree shelters. I've used more than one kind and they all work. It is my experience that once they are tall enough to come out of the top of the 2 foot shelter the direct sunlight doesn't hurt them even if it is the first year. But I'm only 600 feet of elevation you are over 5000 feet consequently nearer the sun, less filtration by the air of UV. I would think open shade would be sufficient protection and you wouldn't need to have them nearly in the dark.
Jerry
