- Subject: [NAFEX] What is this tree?
- Date: Tue, 5 Jan 2010 08:55:17 -0800 (PST)
I found a tree (obviousely planted as ornamental) growing in this town in Jasper, In. It is about 30 ft. tall with a trunk of about 10 inches.
The leaves are similar to slightly elongiated apple leaves but they appear to be a deeper green color, especially from a distance when contrasted with the small red fruits about the size of sour cherry. They do appear as small apples The fruits are in clusters and are very attractive...very decorative tree and absolutely no thorns.
Is this a Crab or a Haw?
