I can't comment on their suitability for the more southerly part of
the country, but Black Velvet is extremely delicious, but a light
bearer and a wimpy plant compared to other gooseberries I've had.
Hinnomaki Red is very good quality, and does very well for me here.
I've also had Invicta and Hinnomaki Yellow, they do just fine, but not
my favorite tasting.
