The effect quoted by the article has been well known for at least two centuries. It's usually referred to as precession of the equinoxes, and while it does cause climate changes, those changes are incredibly slow and last for tens of thousands of years. There hasn't really been any debate about it for well over a century, but it has absolutely no connection to man-made global warming.

This article is misleading - the scientific paper referenced in the article presents an hypothesis for past cooling/warming cycles, not a prediction for the future.  All the future prediction is done by the writer of this article who is not a scientist.  If you read the referenced Science Daily article where this guy pulled the story you will see the scientists themselves directly contradict him: in a nutshell, they assert that human influence is now causing the climate to change an order of magnitude more quickly than this effect.  So, while it may have predicted past cooling/warming, the scientists believe the human factor is 10x more important than this planet orbit factor going forward.

I'll bet Al Gore who has made
millions off global warming doesn't buy into
this. This would end his gravy train.
