Caren, THE definitive source for information on growing figs in the North is
Adriano, (near
Toronto). Adriano is Italian - very. He is passionate about figs, and sells
plants or cuttings.
He has over 100 varieties of figs, and sells only to customers in Canada. He
is very willing to
offer all the help you need, but "due to the volume of inquiries will only
provide advice and
information on the cultivation of fig trees to those customers." Web site:
www.adrianosfigtrees.com. (His stated "mission" is "to have a fig tree in
every household in
Canada.")
(This has to be the first time I can think of that we in the frozen North
have an advantage
over our Yankee neighbours.)
