I once planted Golden Midget watermelon, bred by Prof. Elwyn Meader one of NAFEX's founders. It's a small icebox type that turns golden when ripe. However, in our benign climate, by the time it turned color it was overripe. Decided it needed a cooler climate, since it was bred in New Hampshire.
