- Subject: [NAFEX] Prunus andersonii - deset peach
- Date: Mon, 20 Apr 2009 14:37:32 -0500 (CDT)
I found Prunus andersonii for sale in the Forestfarm catalog. I have read that it blooms in mid spring. I live in Seattle, and I have a problem with other Prunus species blooming early, so this peach would not have that problem. It grows in the desert, so I would plant in in my outdoor cactus collection. No problem there. Two things that are preventing me from ordering this tree are heat requirements in the growing season and diseases. Seattle is overcast much of the year, and some of the plants I have are alive, but barely growing. Does anyone have experience with P. andersonii in a maritime climate?
