Caren,

If you haven't tasted the blackberries to see if you like them, you ought to give them at least one try. Even here in Oregon, I wouldn't approach blackberries in the woods without wearing jeans, a long sleeved heavy jacket and heavy leather gloves. Another thought, does your university have any suggestions?
