To the list,

I have a vague memory that a number of years ago there was a national list (whether online or in print, I can't recall) in which one could look up a variety and see the nurseries that carried it.

It's very common for companies to not have exactly the same availability list every year. While it is frustrating to have favorite varieties disappear, I think it's unreasonable to be annoyed at a company for not having in stock an item they advertised three or four years ago; or to think that they shouldn't have sent out a flyer listing it three or four years ago, just because they might not have it in stock years later.

Ah the difficulties of buying fruit plants.  You can find
descriptions and names of wonderful fruit plants.  But try to buy
them.  I e-mailed the St John Soil and Water Conservation District
last year but they never replied.  I called them and they knew
nothing.    I called Nourse yesterday and they knew nothing about Ft
Kent saying it was an old newsletter.  Also asked Nourse about
Cancaska blackberry but she knew nothing about it.  It was also in
the a newsletter.  Asked her why they sent out newsletters.  She
didn't know.   At least its fun trying to track down new plants.

St. John Valley Soil & Water Conservation District, 139 Market St.,
Fort Kent, Maine 04743. 3 for $19. In newsletter of October 2006.

Nourse Farms, 41 River Road, So. Deerfield, Maine 01373, no price
